Khoiron khoironcakep@gmail.com
Small and Medium Industries have an important and strategic role in national economic development. The SME sector is an economic strength for Indonesia. The number of SMEs in Indonesia each year has increased significantly. Many SMEs industry players in Indonesia do not yet have formal legality for their trademarks due to limited capital and a lack of understanding of the benefits of brand legality for them. This study uses a normative juridical research method. SMIs that do not have trademark legality do not get legal protection, because a trademark will get legal protection if it has registered a trademark. Thus, a policy is needed that regulates SMEs in Indonesia to obtain legal protection for their trademarks. Thus, due to the criteria for SMEs industry business actors to have limitations in terms of capital, assets and annual sales results when compared to Non-SMEs business actors, the government makes it easy for SMEs industry players to register brands, namely through a policy of lower SMEs brand registration fees. cheaper than non-SMES brands, cooperate with the Directorate General of Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights and the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMES, provide financial incentives for registration of SMES trademark registrations, as well as registration of collective marks for the SMES industry.
2022-10-31T13:33:16+07:00 Copyright (c) 2022 International Journal of Management and Industrial Science
